Update V0.0.31 Patch 1 Bug Fixes, Japan, and More

V0.0.31 Alpha has had a patch. Make sure to re-download the free demo or the EA from the project page.

Here is what has been added in this patch:

 Government & Scenario Editor Improvements

  • Added the ability to change the party of any government office within the scenario editor.

  • You can now set politicians for the state level, allowing for more detailed local simulations.

  • Governor primary elections now feature a fully functional map.

  • The player as Governor or President can now veto or sign bills, a feature previously limited to AI leaders.

  • Added a temporary way to access Washington, D.C. (map coming in a later update).

  • Governments for states and cities can now be changed, generated, and modified directly.

  • Japan is no longer considered WIP and has been included in the demo. Tweaks may be necessary in terms of how many candidates show up for SNTV MMD elections but it isn't game breaking.

  • Political landscape for regions can be regenerated by pressing the button in step 2. That way, you don't have to re-add regions and re-generate them entirely.

  • Campaign staff now have some actual effects and do things in your campaign. This is still a pretty early in development feature.

Fixes

  • Fixed custom parties (created outside the scenario editor) not appearing correctly in political entities or generating fully.

  • Custom scenarios now correctly generate state legislature politicians in campaigns.

  • Fixed party list resorting issues within states.

  • Fixed national-level party popularity not loading correctly in saved scenarios.

  • Fixed an issue where creating a new party from the scenario editor would send players back to the country selection stage.

  • Fixed state campaign continuity issues that sent players to a previous campaign.

  • Japanese legislative offices now generate properly.

  • Election winners in Japan’s state legislature now correctly replace previous officeholders.

  • Fixed state floor vote processing (especially for Japan) when skipping to results. This was caused by votes already being registered early.

  • Fixed live vote sessions in Japan’s state legislature ending automatically before completion

  • Temporarily, national party popularity does not shift; it will be implemented soon.

  • Other assortment of bugs.

Working On Next:

These are the features I currently plan on working on next, besides a ton of other features.
  • Editing secondary regions (counties) etc for main admin regions in the scenario editor. This allows for realistic county composition within a scenario.
  • A general event system for the game, this will allow for all kinds of things including politicians appearing at certain times for certain elections etc.
  • Overhaul the election night UI to get to the right elections you want to watch more easily, instead of a giant unfiltered list on the right. Also maps for senate races.
  • Prime minister votes / elections.
  • Proper shifts for national party popularity based on state-level popularity and more.
  • Removing the two extra senators caused by Washingon DC being counted as a region. (This is a minor issue).
